About us
Here at Craufurdland we are driven by FOUR very important words which are the drive behind almost everything we do:
Family is at the heart of everything we do at Craufurdland.
The Houison Craufurd family has called Craufurdland home for almost 800 years, making it one of Scotland’s longest-standing family estates. Today, Craufurdland remains a true family business. Simon Houison Craufurd and his wife, Adity, lead the estate, while Simon’s brother, Alex, plays an active role in its day-to-day life. You may also meet Simon and Adity’s daughters, Indra and Manisha, who help welcome guests at the Laird’s Table.
That sense of family extends beyond the Craufurdland household. Our team is like an extended family, united by a shared commitment to creating memorable experiences for every visitor. Whether you’re enjoying a meal at the Laird’s Table, taking part in our outdoor activities, staying in our self-catering accommodation, or choosing the peaceful setting of our Woodland Burial Ground, everything we do is centred around providing exceptional experiences for families and creating connections that last for generations.
Craufurdland is a place of nature, so explore.
Adventure:
Our activities offer all sorts of adventure, high, low, skilled, unskilled, muddy and clean. Growing up here, the Laird had lots of adventures and you’re welcome to have your own adventures here . It may be a cliché, but LIFE IS AN ADVENTURE.
Tranquil
Once you enter the Craufurdland estate, you will find a natural peace, a tranquillity. Using tranquillity as a guide, we try to avoid activities that will overly disturb the tranquillity. Enjoy tranquillity in the Laird’s Table over-looking the lochan, resting within the Towerhouse Self-catering, or remembering a loved one at the Woodland Burial Ground.
Undiscovered
It’s very simple, there’s lots to discover. Craufurdland isn’t full of formal paths or trails, so why not find your own little undiscovered corner of Craufurdland (but please respect the privacy of those who live here too).
